Dan is a team leader in Hoagland Longo’s Environmental & Toxic Tort Litigation practice. He has extensive experience prosecuting and defending toxic tort and environmental claims involving talc, asbestos, mold, home heating oil, carbon monoxide, benzene, silica, and natural disaster exposures in both state and federal courts across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. In this capacity, Dan represents individuals, small businesses, multinational corporations, and insurers.

In addition to his environmental practice, Dan regularly handles a wide range of general liability matters, including product liability, automobile accidents, premises liability, lemon law, consumer fraud, and collection claims. He is experienced in all stages of litigation, from inception through trial, and is often called upon to argue motions, defend and conduct depositions, oversee settlement negotiations, and represent clients in arbitrations and mediations.

Dan also has significant appellate experience. He participated in Ross v. State Farm Fire & Casualty, where the New Jersey Appellate Division and Supreme Court ruled that a third party could not proceed directly against an insurer for damages arising from alleged delays despite the insurer’s acknowledged obligation.

A frequent contributor to legal publications and a speaker at national asbestos panels, Dan has co-authored a series of articles addressing successor liability, including issues of intermediary successors, product line continuation, and supplier liability. He continues to be a thought leader on emerging toxic tort and environmental law trends.

During law school, Dan served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable James S. Rothschild, J.S.C., an experience that provided him with early insight into the judiciary and trial practice that serves him well today.
