Robert S. Helwig has been a partner at the firm since 1993, focusing his practice primarily in Insurance Defense Litigation. He is also a member of the Executive Management Committee. He leads the firm's General Liability and Commercial Litigation group in the New Brunswick and Hammonton, New Jersey, offices.
Robert has extensive experience in the defense of a wide range of negligence matters including premises liability, construction litigation, products liability and professional liability cases such as dental, nursing and legal malpractice. During his 30 plus years in practice, he has tried a multitude of cases to conclusion in the Superior Court of New Jersey as well as arguing before the New Jersey Appellate Court and the Supreme Court.
Robert is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and has been identified by his peers as “an experienced litigator who is always well prepared to represent his client's interests and who maintains a very high degree of professionalism and ethics." In 2021, he was recognized in the New Jersey Super Lawyers for excellence in Civil Litigation. He is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Ortley Beach Loyal Order of Moose.
