Hoagland Longo Celebrates Pride Month and the 10th Anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges
Hoagland Longo is proud to celebrate Pride Month and its commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, Pride Month coincides with the tenth anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges.
On June 26, 2015, the United States Supreme Court ruled that the fundamental right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples under both the Due Process Clause and Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Although some states, including New Jersey, had legalized same-sex marriage prior to Obergefell, the ruling made same-sex marriage legal nationwide and recognized it as a fundamental right.
On the tenth anniversary of this landmark decision, Hoagland Longo is proud to reaffirm its commitment to diversity and support of equal rights for all, including the LGBTQIA+ community. Happy Pride!
