Firm Awarded for Service to Lord Stirling Community School

06.05.2007

"Thank you for your ongoing commitment and dedication to the Lord Stirling Community School children"

"Thank you for your ongoing commitment and dedication to the Lord Stirling Community School children" reads the plaque presented to Joan A. Weisblatt, Counsel to our firm. The plaque was presented to Ms.Weisblatt by Lord Stirling Community School Principal, Rosaura Valarezo at the school's Career Day celebration on May 18, 2007.

In 2000, Joan initiated the firm's New Brunswick Outreach Tutoring Program to encourage children to continue their education and strive for success. The tutoring program brings students from Lord Stirling Community School and New Brunswick Middle School to our law firm for an hour each week, for pizza, conversation and assistance with homework. Attorneys, assistants and paralegals have served as tutors over the years. In particular, Paralegal Jessica Vizthum and Assistant Rhonda Pepin have been invaluable to the success of the program.

The tutoring program has been a cooperative effort among Ms.Valarezo, Gabriela Rowack, Guidance Counselor at Lord Stirling and the firm. In addition to the tutoring program, the firm awards cash prizes each year to two Lord Stirling students who show exceptional effort and promises cash prizes to two middle schoolers awarded upon their graduation from high school.
