The Workers’ Compensation Practice Group offers comprehensive legal services to, and aggressive representation of, employers (self-insured or otherwise), municipal entities, third party administrators and insurance companies in defense of Workers’ Compensation matters throughout New Jersey and the region. In addition to the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims, we provide consulting and risk management services to assist employers before claims are filed. We take a multi-disciplinary approach to the defense of these claims and work closely with our Labor and Employment Group. We collaboratively address and resolve broader employment issues that often intersect with Workers’ Compensation matters. As such, our group is fully familiar with the Family Medical Leave Act, the Law Against Discrimination and the Americans With Disabilities Act.

We are well-versed in New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Law and handle both traumatic and occupational injury cases, as well as dependency claims. We handle all phases of litigation including the filing of appropriate and necessary pleadings, to discovery, pretrial, and if necessary, trials and appeals. In conjunction with that, we strive to keep costs contained by utilizing our state of the art computer system - which is also linked to the Division of Workers’ Compensation’s computer system - that enables our attorneys to electronically file pertinent documents with the Courts and view the status of matters within the court system.

Hoagland Longo is committed to keeping abreast of current developments in the law. We sponsor in-house seminars where we address issues faced by employers in the workplace. We keep our clients informed of the latest developments in the law through firm published updates as well as contributing articles to various legal and trade publications including the quarterly publication, New Jersey Defense, which is published by the New Jersey Defense Association. We lecture on pertinent Workers’ Compensation issues on behalf of the New Jersey Defense Association, the Insurance Council of New Jersey and various bar associations.
