Jessica Ma is an Associate in the firm’s Employment and Municipal Litigation Departments. Jessica represents public employees, public entities, and municipalities in a variety of Title 59 and civil rights claims, including those involving allegations of excessive force, malicious prosecution, and false arrest. Jessica also defends claims made against employers and employees under Title VII, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and the Americans with Disability Act.
After completing a criminal clerkship in Atlantic County, Jessica worked as an assistant prosecutor at the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, where she worked closely with local law enforcement in prosecuting hundreds of criminal matters. She has also tried to verdict a wide array of criminal cases, including murder, armed robbery, and various narcotic-related offenses.
Prior to joining the firm, Jessica was an associate at a medical malpractice defense firm in Princeton, New Jersey, where she handled various aspects of pre-trial discovery, including depositions, motions, and settlement conferences.
Jessica received her undergraduate education from Rutgers College, where she competed in the intercollegiate mock trial program all four years. She obtained her J.D. from Rutgers Law School in Camden, where she was a member of the Rutgers Law Journal and served as the Lead State Constitutional Law Editor during her 3L year.
