Shazia Chaudhri deWit

Shazia Chaudhri deWit is a partner in the Environmental/Toxic Tort Litigation department and serves as the team leader for this litigation group. Her practice has focused primarily on asbestos litigation. Specifically, she serves as National Coordinating Counsel to several prominent clients. In this capacity, she oversees each State’s local counsel in all aspects of discovery, expert development and retention, trial preparation and development of defense strategies for deposition and trial. She also prepares comprehensive reporting and analysis of claims on a national level.
Shazia is also responsible for managing the day-to-day handling of a large volume of New Jersey and New York asbestos cases, including preparing and coordinating discovery; conducting extensive document reviews; conducting party, fact witness, and expert depositions; preparing motions and appellate briefs; engaging in trial preparation; evaluating claims for settlement; preparing requests for settlement authority; and negotiate settlements.
She has also represented firm as volunteer tutor for underprivileged children and participated in firm’s mentoring program.
