Katherine Coyne is an Associate in the firm’s General Liability Department.
Kate received her undergraduate education from Fordham University and her J.D. from Rutgers Law School. During law school, Katherine served as the Vice Chair of Rutgers Law Public Interest Law Student Association, Treasurer of Women’s Law Forum, Notes & Comments Editor of Rutgers Race & The Law Review, and Co-Chair of Barrister’s Ball Committee. She was also awarded a Family Law Certificate upon graduation.
While in law school, Kate served as a Student Associate with the Rutgers Law Community & Transactional Lawyering Clinic where she drafted and filed formation and incorporation documents for new LLC’s and non-profit organizations and managed new client intake. She also presented on public interest topics in various locations in Newark. Kate worked as a Summer Associate at a family law firm in Bergen County where she drafted and researched memoranda on various family law issues, including adoptions, foreign re-adoptions, compassionate gestational surrogacy contracts, and pre-nuptial agreements. She also participated in client intake meetings.
Kate served as a Judicial Extern with the Honorable Linda Lordi-Cavanaugh in Superior Court of NJ, Essex Vicinage. Additionally, she completed internships with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and a consumer protection law firm in Hudson County.
Kate served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael E. Hubner, J.S.C., Morris & Sussex Vicinage, Criminal Division.
