Amelia Lyte is an associate in the firm’s General Liability Department, where she focuses on complex civil and criminal litigation.

A skilled litigation attorney, Amelia has significant experience defending business owners, property owners, homeowners, and insurance companies in a wide range of personal injury claims arising from general liability, premises liability, slip and fall, auto liability, and insurance coverage disputes. On the criminal law side, Amelia handles expungements as well as the prosecution of a variety of municipal matters, including traffic offenses and DUIs/DWIs.   

Beyond her busy practice, Amelia serves as Volunteer Mediator in the New Jersey Superior Court's Special Civil Court, Middlesex County, where she assists parties in settling their disputes.

Amelia received her undergraduate education from Binghamton University and her J.D. degree cum laude from Rutgers Law School. While in law school, Amelia served as the Managing Editor of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter and worked in the Rutgers Criminal and Youth Justice Clinic. She also completed internships with the Office of the Chief Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security and with the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s office. 

Prior to joining Hoagland Longo, Amelia served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kevin Shanahan, Presiding Judge – Criminal Division, Superior Court of New Jersey, Somerset County.
