Chad Moore Wins at Trial

07.07.2010

On June 8, 2010, Chad M. Moore, a partner in the General Litigation Department, completed a four day trial before the Honorable Vincent LeBlon, at the Middlesex County Courthouse, on behalf of the defendant in a personal injury lawsuit.

The case arose out of an automobile accident that occurred on January 12, 2007. The defendant struck the rear of the plaintiff’s vehicle on the Garden State Parkway. The defendant contested the case on all issues. Plaintiff was a 39 year old male with no prior history of accident or injury who alleged that he sustained injuries to the neck and back. The defense expert, an orthopaedic surgeon, admitted that plaintiff had both the cervical and lumbar herniations; however, he testified that the discs were caused by degenerative disc disease and not related to the accident. After about 20 minutes of deliberations, the jury agreed with the defense finding that plaintiff did not sustain a permanent injury and entered a verdict of no cause of action on behalf of the defendant.
