Andrea Mackaronis Prevails at Trial

Andrea Mackaronis, an associate in the Family Law Department, prevailed at trial where the firm represented the Plaintiff in trying to obtain her share of equitable distribution from the Defendant after a 40+ year marriage.  This protracted litigation culminated in a four-day plenary hearing before the Honorable Barry A. Weisberg at Middlesex County Superior Court.  The Plaintiff was awarded over $350,000 in equitable distribution after the Court determined that the Defendant had misapplied funds which were due to the Plaintiff to be utilized for his own purposes.  The Court recently addressed the outstanding issue of fees for the plenary hearing, which resulted in an award of counsel fees to this firm of over $63,000 and forensic accountant's fees to our expert of over $117,000.
