Robert G. Kenny promoted to the grade of Brigadier General of the United States Air Force Reserves

At a Military ceremony with over 200 attendees, Bethlehem Township resident and Partner in the law firm of Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas, LLP, Robert G. Kenny was promoted to the grade of Brigadier General, United States Air Force Reserve at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey on July 11, 2008.   

Brigadier General Kenny is the mobilization assistant to the Deputy Judge Advocate General, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the professional oversight of more than 900 Reserve judge advocates and paralegals in the Judge Advocate General's Corps assigned to more than 200 offices at every level of command. He is also responsible for the development of corps-wide policies affecting all Air Reserve component members and manages the recruitment, training, utilization and deployment of Reserve legal forces worldwide. He assists the Judge Advocate General in the professional supervision and management of 4,400 active-duty, Guard, and Reserve personnel assigned to the Judge Advocate General's Corps. In addition to overseeing a vast array of military justice, international and operational law, and civil law functions, including litigation affecting Air Force interests, he provides legal advice to the Chief of Air Force Reserve and Commander, Air Force Reserve Command.

General Kenny was commissioned to the post of Second Lieutenant in May 1978 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Rutgers University. He received an educational delay of his active-duty assignment to attend Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, N.J., where he graduated cum laude in 1981 with a Juris Doctorate. He was admitted as a member of the Bar of the State of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey in December 1981.

He is currently a Senior Partner at the law firm of Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst and Doukas, LLP(www.hoaglandlongo.com) headquartered in New Brunswick, NJ with offices in Clinton, NJ and New York City. He joined the firm in 1985, was appointed to Partner in 1989, and has been a member of the firm's Executive Committee since 2003.

Brigadier General Kenny, born and raised in New Brunswick, has lived in Bethlehem Township since 1992, along with his wife, Kathy, and their three daughters, LeAnne, Michelle, and Jacqueline.

He is also active in the following organizations:
