Lawrence Powers To Speak at the NJSPE & NJIT Continuing Education Program

09.16.2011

The Holiday Inn Hotel
Somerset, NJ

The New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers (NJSPE) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) have assembled a one-day continuing education program for engineers, offering CE credits in NY, NJ and PA.  Lawrence Powers, Co-Partner in Charge of the Construction Litigation Department, will be speaking for a portion of that program on common statutory and regulatory ethics rules.  In his three-part presentation, he will expose participants to the various codes of ethics related to engineers and create an understanding of ethical standards common to all jurisdictions.  He will discuss the NJSPE Code of Ethics and corollary state adminstrative code provisions, why they exist and how they were developed; how violations of ethical rules are commonly dealt with by engineering societies and State Boards; and how unethical practice can affect the public health, safety and welfare and create professional liability, legal and licensure issues.

The seminar will run on September 16, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Somerset, NJ.  For more information and to register, visit the NJSPE web site or view the attached PDF.
