History

Our firm has been in existence since 1977. Since that time, the firm has grown to more than eighty lawyers. We have moved to a number of different locations within downtown New Brunswick. In 1989, we purchased the present offices of the firm at 40 Paterson Street from Rutgers University. The building used to be the Mason Gross School of the Arts. The firm significantly refurbished the premises. In recent years, we have added satellite offices in Clinton and New York City. We have also entered into a relationship with the Buffalo, New York law firm of Kenney, Shelton, Liptak & Nowak. Here is a timeline of our growth:

 Longo & Stone of Elizabeth, New Jersey (formerly known as Ryan, Saros, Davis & Stone) merges with Cohen, Hoagland, Keefe & Oropollo of New Brunswick. At the same time, Jim Moran (formerly with Connell, Foley & Geiser) joins the firm creating Hoagland, Longo, Oropollo & Moran
Hoagland Offices  The firm purchases its current offices at 40 Paterson Street from Rutgers University
 Firm renamed Hoagland Longo Moran Dunst & Doukas
 Judge Herman Breitkopf, Assignment Judge of Middlesex County, joins the firm as Counsel
 Founding partner John Hoagland retires
 Partner Jamie Happas appointed to the bench in Middlesex County
 Larry Powers (formerly of Hill Wallack) joins the firm with 4 associates in Construction Law department
 The law firm of Kilmurray Kinneally and Philibosian joins Hoagland with 3 associates
 Tom Leyhane (former in-house counsel for MIIX Insurance) joins the firm
 Partner Doug Fasciale appointed to the bench in Union County
 Managing Partner Ken Doukas retires
 15 attorneys named New Jersey Superlawyers
 Gary Hoagland named Managing Partner
 Founding partner, Bart Longo, retires
 Judge Mark Epstein (Middlesex County) joins the firm
 Frank Kontely (formerly with Purcell Ries Shannon & Mulcahey) joins the firm
 Glynn Dwyer and Roxane Teleck join firm creating Family Law department
 Steven Satz (formerly of Busch & Busch) joins the firm's Environmental & Toxic Tort group as a Partner June 1
